Championship Manager 2 was the second engine update of the classic manager game. While it may be outdated to such updates as Championship Manager 01-02 or Championship Manager 4, it still has lures me to play it often, even though it’s much easier and less in-depth.

The gameface is simpler, also, but it is still a dramatic change from Championship Manager 1. The 97/98 season update also marked a change to the CM world. More leagues were added, rather than the previous English, Scottish and Italian-only game from the original CM2.

The list of these new available leagues included Spanish, Italian, English, Scottish, Dutch, Belgian, French, Portuguese, and German, though only three, at most, could be selected to play in, in any one game.
