Stats

A new screen to get you all excited, we now offer a new way to display stats on a player profile screen should the user prefer something a little more graphical. The numbers are still there if that’s their preference but we think the user will genuinely pleased with the additional functionality this screen offers them. We’ve implemented visual bars representing stats which should help the player to determine whether that squad member is a first team player or not. As you can see from the example shown, a players Technical ability now comprises of crossing, dribbling, tackling, heading etc. This new screen is most effective when trying to compare players and see how they stand up against each other. And for the eagle eyed out there, yes its possible an attacking midfielder might end up in goal- even if he does have a rating of 1! J

Match Action

Exclusive to www.championshipmanager.com , your first look at the 2D match engine and as you can see, the all new Player Cam. We offer radio commentary mode for traditionalists, the PS2 2D match engine which first appeared back in the CM4 days and now, for the first time on PSP, the Player Cam tracker. Essentially this allows the user to track a player and monitor his stats while remaining in the match engine. No more pausing and going to squad screens and checking player conditions or ratings, it’s all there, on the match action screen. We think this will be a great boon for the player when it comes to deciding who to bring on, who to take off and give a rest and which players are firing on all cylinders! The 2D match engine it should be noted is just as sophisticated as its PS2 predecessor, we don’t feel we’ve had to compromise in any way simply because it’s a PSP!

Game Modes Screen

Never seen before in the CM series, we’ve created a series of challenges for the users that sit along side the main Championship Manager mode. These new modes are Challenge and Quick Play. Essentially, Challenge Mode gives the player a set of criteria they have to try and meet within a set amount of time. For example take Tottenham and win a continental cup or perhaps you fancy your chances of winning the French league with Metz? Too easy for you? How about trying to avoid relegation in one season playing East Fife or Vicenza?

These game modes are designed for those who want to play on a plane, train or back of a car and see a conclusion to their efforts within a reasonable timeframe without having to play the full 10 seasons through to the end. For future versions we’re planning loads more and it may be possible one day for players to set up and then challenge other players to beat their own challenges. Historical scenarios, fantasy all star teams (imagine the worlds greatest ever all in one team!), we’re planning on a lot, lot more to come.

Countries Screen

Lots of countries to choose from with full detail. We offer the user 25,000 players, 12 countries, 35 divisions and around 700 clubs to play around with. More than enough to keep you busy over the cold winter months! For those with access to the Internet, a PC and a USB cable, we’ll also be offering free player database updates over the coming months, exclusively via www.championshipmanager.com which will ensure you’ve always got the latest and greatest in the palm of your hand!
